Image of Flying Scotsman by Alan Gunston

Flying Scotsman by Alan Gunston

A little artistic licence here – despite all attempts to leave this iconic locomotive to others, Alan succumbed to the lure of the Flying Scotsman's power and elegance and undertook this pastel painting.

The timeless appeal of this world famous engine has continued for children, parents and grandparents alike for over 90 years.

It occasionally passes through Kirkby Stephen station on the Settle-Carlisle line, but you're more likely to see it on the mainline these days. You can find more information right here.

We've chosen a frame we think suits the work, and provided you with two images of this framed print in a standard size, so you can see how it will look on your wall. One is slightly 'warmer' looking; one is slightly more 'cool' looking, to reflect the different temperatures of light you might have in your home.

Gold foil, with a concave section.

Original medium: pastel painting.
